Internet Connection Sharing is installed on my W2K Pro machine, and the W98 clients can dial-on-demand, browse the net, exchange mail, ping external sites while the ICS machine is logged in as administrator. When the ICS machine is logged in as a user the clients can dial-on-demand, but once the connection is made there is no traffic - no ping externally (although they can ping the internal connection), no browse, no mail. As far as I can see, the dail-up connection settings are the same (except, of course, that there is no 'sharing' tab when logged in as a user). In all instances, each machine can see each other machine on the peer-to-peer network. Whether I login as administrator or as user I can successfully browse externally from the ICS machine. MS Q289648 may be the answer, but has insufficient detail - I've tried without success. Does anyone have any idea why ICS does not work when I'm logged into my ICS machine as a user ? Thanks.

Hey - it's all worked - as per Q289648, but with more detail.
The scenario is:
login as administrator and delete the connection
login as user and delete the connection
restart the machine (although this is probably not necessary)
login as user and create a new connection using the connection wizard but explicitly leaving the ISP username and password blank.
login as supervisor and set ICS
login as user, and connect - giving ISP username and password, and enabling Save Password.
Hey Presto - the other machines can connect
