Say I have two computers on my network here. box1 and box2. both running win 2k server. box1 is using Internet Connetion Sharing. It works no problem. I am running a web server on box2 on port 81. box2 cannot be seen from the outside, and I want the web server to be accessed from the outside.
So I should use ICS services on box1. This is done by clicking on the sharing tab and then "settings...", then the services tab.
So I choose "Add..." and enter in the following data:
Name of service: box2 www
Service port number: 81
TCP or UDP: TCP
Name or address of server computer on private network: box2
So, what should happen is when i type http://box1:81 I should get the web site on port 81 or box2. But this doesnt happen. Cannot connect with web browswer. Telnet box1 81 says "Connection failed."
Any help here? box2 can access box1 and vice versa through the network and whatnot.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
