Unable to Reconnect at Logon
All the machines need to reconnect at logon to their own directory on a win95osr2 machine. The target directory is password protected. The share is R/W.
The network is a basic peering network, 25 win9x/2k/xp machines. The win9x machines are fat16 and fat 32. The windows 2k machines are fat32. the XP machine is NTFS.
The win9x and winXP machines all reconnect at logon without incident.
When I set up the mapped drive, I checked the box to reconnect at logon.
When I reboot the win2k machines I get a message saying "Incorrect Password" I can then enter the appropriate password and map the drive.
It should and it needs to reconnect without user attention.
I tried connecting the win2k machines to a win98se machine to see what would happen. Same result. It doesn't reconnect at logon.
Suggestions welcome.
TIA,

Gory details:
This network is a basic peering network. The network is a single workgroup.
Browse Master is limited to one of 3 machines - 2 win98se machines and a win95osr2 machine. The Win95 machine is on all of the time and wins the election for Browse Master.
I am using DHCP for WINS Resolution. It is provided by a Farallon Netopia Router/ISDN Modem.
Setup Mapping

Enter Folder: \mainserverg
Reconnect at Logon: check yes

Connect as: <left blank>
Password: abcdefg
"ok"
Drive is mapped and functions as expected.

When I enter the correct password the drive is mapped.
