This probably is not the right forum for this but i am at a loss....so here goes...

I have some Win 98 and ME boxes that only have modems in them.

I have Dialup networking on them and primary logon set to Client for Microsoft networks.

I have (in the RAS connection) Enable Logon to Network.

I am not authenticating through a domain.

On my 95 boxes, I get prompted apon authentication to the RAS for a Network User name and password.

I do not have my logon set to NULL.

If the machine has a NIC installed, everything is fine.

WTF is going on?!?!?! I came to the conclusion that the TCPIP is not fully bound to the Dialup adapter card.

Any help would be appreciated.....

Dan,

Got a couple of questions for you. What kind of security are you looking for? Second, what transport protocol are you using, TCP/IP, Netbeui, or IPX/SPX? Third, are you using any hardware profiles?

Lastly...just a note. RAS in 98 is Win95-based. I believe the RAS in ME is Win2k-based and is a whole new breed of animal.
