Education Question.. Please Respond!!

I am going to school in the winter. I want to be a NetworkSystem Administrator, stuff like setting up hubs, routers, and switches, managing a network, etc. Are there any IT professionals that would kind of me my counselor. I need to know what to study so I can make it in the Networking World. Thanks a bunch

goto www.cisco.com and look for their certification information. The first step is to obtain your CCNA and then work up from their. Research all the vendor sites i.e Cisco, Nortel, Juniper, Foundry as well as IETF RFC's as required. Get real familiar with the OSI layered model, particularly layers 1-4.
