Is there a any way or a program that will allow a crashed workstation to boot via floppy to an NT domain using TCP/IP so that you could copy over a workstation snapshot from the server.

Thank you!

Hi!
I am not sure that I understand this, but you can put ntldr, ntdetect.com, booy.ini and ntbootdd.sys (if present) on the floppy and boot from this.

I dont know if this is what you need, but let me know and I can zip up a copy of a floppy that we use here. It has the drivers for a PCI NIC Card, (3C 905B TX) and will log you on to the network. You can modify the default login by editing the SYSTEM.INI directory in the NET folder. Our only protocol we use here is TCP/IP and this works great. We use it to burn images to new systems. Let me know if you need this and I will email to you.

NT server has a utility called Network client administrator under administrative tools. It allows you to craete a bootable disk. I has some of the nic drivers, if you have a different nic you have to get dos drivers for that from NIC Manufacturer.

You can use Norton Ghost or Power Quest Drive Image Pro to build a network boot disk and then push the image of the crashed system's hard drive up to a network share on your server. It works great and the new versions of either product will let you build a customized boot disk using the NIC drivers that you use on your systems.
