I need to know the administrative procedure for setting up an autonomous Internet site, to host a company's own domain, web host, mail host, DNS servers etc. (not the mechanics of installing software etc.)
How do I get a range of static IP addresses? Who do I contact? How do I get my DNS servers registered with Internic, assign my domain name to my own DNS servers, host my domain on my own machines?
Does anyone know of a reference source that explains this aspect of setting up a site? (not which machines, software or routers to use...)
Thanks,
John Cox

It may be best to request services from a local network vendor but here are a few basic websites and locations of info that may help:
http://www.internic.net/ for Domain Registration Info
http://support.microsoft.com for basic setup and troubleshooting
MS Software CD's for the various servers have help files that will have direct relations to these questions. Check them out...As for routers, grab a Cisco network book and read up on setting up a basic network with little administration. It is not too difficult for the setup...just stay Security conscience. Have an external router to keep access entries. If you need more specific help, email me and I will assist further!
Sorry that this is not much.
